The ice palace is the nickname of the city hall of The Hague. It's key elements are its white colour and large atrium.

The architect is the American Richard Meier. The design was started in 1986. It was built between 1990 and 1995. The client was ABP Pensioenfonds, the contractor Wilma Bouw. The costs for the construction was € 125 million, the total floor area is 131.000 m².

The public library The Hague is also part of the city hall.
